About Dee

I run the hand dyed yarn company Posh Yarn, with my husband Tony. We live in a little beach house on the tip of West Wales, with our two cats and about a million books.

I am absolutely thrilled to announce the first Posh Yarn club in nearly a decade!! I didn’t want to do one until I could come up with something really special for you, and I believe that this is. We’re going to have so much fun with it throughout 2022!!

Trailblazers — Posh Yarn Club 2022

Throughout 2022 you will get to try out exciting new yarns that won’t yet be available to buy from our website (but will be added to our range later in the year). You will be our modern day trailblazers, and together we will be inspired by some incredible trailblazing women from history, who made their mark in the world of arts (of all kinds: painting, music, literature, dance, etc). Each club instalment will tell the story of that particular woman, whom the new yarn will be named in honour of. And the colours dyed will be inspired by her life, work, environment, and so on. Tony will dye a range of colourways, in small amounts, as this is how he works best creatively. So members won’t all get the same colourways. It will be my job to make sure that throughout the year you get a good variety. When you join, you will have the opportunity to state any strong preferences colour-wise that you have, but where possible I’d ask you to keep an open mind, as the real joy of a club, in my opinion, comes from the surprise element, and the opportunity to shake up your habitual preferences.

This will be a bi-monthly club, running throughout 2022, with yarn sent out the first week of February, April, June, August, October, December.

When you join, you will be able to specify the kind of yarn you want to receive throughout the year. I have a total of 4 lace & heavy lace weight yarns planned, and 6 sock weight yarns. So you have the option of:

1 : a mix of lace, heavy lace, and sock
2 : a mix of heavy lace and sock
3 : sock weight only
You will also have the opportunity to tell me any strong preferences that you have, colourwise, as well as any fibre allergies (ie mohair).

Payment will be made through Paypal, who offer the option to pay over three instalments to eligible customers.

Membership signups will be open throughout December. The cost will be (this is total cost, including postage throughout the year):

UK : £100 (£120 once VAT is added)

Europe : £115 (this does not include tax, which may be payable when your parcel clears your own Customs, but each parcel will only contain 1 skein of yarn, so it shouldn’t be too bad)

International : £130

If you would like to buy a second membership, to receive two skeins instead of one, you will save on postage, reducing the overall cost by:

UK £20
Europe £30
International £40

If you want to take advantage of this, you’ll need to checkout and pay for the full amount, but I will then refund the excess postage fee.

Paypal offer a way to spread the cost of a purchase over three payments, if you are interested in this, you can read all about it here. If you don’t want to use Paypal at all, you can pay for your membership by bank transfer (wherever you are in the world). PM or email me so that I can help you set this up.

Are you in? Let’s go!!!

First of all, a quick reminder that our Etsy 25% off sale draws to an end tonight, so don’t miss out!

Secondly, we are looking ahead, and we would absolutely love to do a club in 2022; it’s been a long, long time since we did our Lace & Sock Clubs, but I love the whole concept of club members getting regular surprises throughout the year.

However, if we do a club, I want it to be an interesting/fun concept, not just your bog standard sock club (for example). So far, I’m drawing a bit of a blank, and really, the best thing to do is to throw this open to you guys, and get your input.

What are your knitting goals/dreams/plans for 2022? What sort of thing would you like to have sprinkled throughout your year? Is there a club idea that you wish someone would do? We’re excited to hear what you all come up with!! You can either email me, leave a comment here, or go to the Ravelry thread I have set up on the topic.

Sunday night, and no Posh update?!

Well, personally, I will be drinking wine and watching Midsomer Murders (and knitting, natch).

And you, you will be bargain hunting on our 25% off sale, amiright? (and then, joining me in the knitting and wineing?!)
